The Common RFID High Frequency (HF) Chips
HF RFID chips offer high data transfer rates and are commonly used in applications that require more data storage capacity than LF RFID chips. Additionally, they have shorter read ranges compared to UHF RFID chips, making them suitable for applications where close proximity is required.
NXP MIFARE Classic:
This is one of the most widely used HF RFID chips in the world. It operates at 13.56 MHz and can store up to 1 KB of data. The MIFARE Classic chip is commonly used in transportation, access control, and payment systems.
NXP NTAG:
This a High Frequency (HF) RFID chip that operates at 13.56 MHz and offers various memory options, including read-only, read-write or password-protected read/write. The NTAG chips are commonly used in consumer applications such as product authentication, mobile marketing, and access control. The NTAG216 has a storage capacity of up to 888 bytes and can easily integrate with NFC-enabled devices like smartphones and tablets.
NXP MIFARE Ultralight:
This chip operates at 13.56 MHz and has a storage capacity of up to 64 bytes. The MIFARE Ultralight is commonly used for ticketing and other single-use applications.
NXP MIFARE DESFire:
This chip operates at 13.56 MHz and is known for its advanced security features. The MIFARE DESFire chip can store up to 4 KB of data and is commonly used in access control, transportation, and electronic payment systems.
Sony FeliCa:
This is a proprietary HF RFID chip that operates at 13.56 MHz. The FeliCa chip is widely used in Japan for transportation, payment, and access control applications.
